DC Meet-up

About the DC Warriors in Pink Meet-up

The February 2010 meet-up, entitled Creating Our Own Conversations, is designed to reunite the women who attended the 2009 conference and to introduce Blogalicious to women who want to learn more about social media.  The event will bring together a multicultural community of women who blog and use social media to discuss issues that are most important to them.  Attendance is expected to be about 100 women and the meet up is scheduled for Wednesday, February 17 from 6-9 pm at National Council of LaRaza, 1126 16th Street NW, Washington, D.C.To coincide with Valentine’s Day and to raise awareness of breast cancer among women of color, Ford Motor Company’s Warriors in Pink has agreed to be an in-kind sponsor that will provide branded merchandise from the Warriors in Pink program.

Speakers:

Our moderator is Ceci Connolly, National Writer for The Washington Post.  A panel discussion of well-known women bloggers, including Shana Glickfield of NextGenWeb, Kety Esquivel of National Council of La Raza,  Kady Chiu of Kadidid Consulting and Nicole McLean, will be featured speakers at the meet up.

These influential women are social media insiders and industry leaders who are going to share best practices in new media and how to Create Your Own Conversations online.  Click here for more information about these fabulous women.

Format:

Taking a page from the She’s Geeky (shesgeeky.org) “Unconference” approach, Blogalicious D.C. Warriors in Pink are encouraging attendees to create questions in advance for the panelists to answer. Please submit your questions to xinaeiland@me.com.
